Credits pay for the AI work Yori does for you, such as writing a chat reply or generating an image. This page shows where to check your balance, what uses credits, how the different kinds of credit work, and how admins add credits and manage payments.
What uses credits
Credits are only used when Yori does AI work. That includes:
- Replies in project chats, including work that runs from an Automation and first drafts written by the Copywriter
- Creating a Brand Profile or Audience with AI
- AI edits and regeneration of chats, Brand Profiles and Audiences, including brand reviews of a document
- Generating images
- Generating Services
- Turning speech into text with dictation
The cost of each action depends on how much work it takes, so a short answer uses less than a long piece of research. Everything else is free, including opening projects, reading chats, uploading files, editing your own content by hand and changing settings.
Where to see your credits
In the top bar
The wallet button at the top right of the app shows how many credits the workspace has left, to two decimal places, for example 25.00 credits. Select it to open Usage breakdown, which shows:
- How many credits remain out of your total, for example "40.00 of 50.00 credits remaining"
- A coloured bar split into Used, Monthly, Trial and Top-up, with the credits for each under it. Monthly shows only on a plan with monthly credits. Hover over or tap a segment to see its exact number of credits.
- When your monthly credits reset, for example Resets in 12 days
- The percentage of credits used this period. On the Free trial, it shows when your trial credits expire instead.
On each reply
Select the wallet icon under a reply to see the credits it used, such as 0.125 credits.
In a project
The credits chip in a project's chat area shows the credits used in this project so far, for example 0.4 credits used. On a phone it shows 0.4 used. Select it to see:
- Credits used in this project, across every chat in the project
- This chat, for the chat you have open
- Last reply, which shows Working it out… while a reply is still finishing
Totals catch up a few seconds after each reply. Before Yori's first reply in a project, the card says "Credits will show here after Yori's first reply in this project." If the total can't load, you'll see Couldn't load credits and a Try again button. Your work is safe and only the total is affected.
In Settings
For the full picture, select Settings in the sidebar and choose Plans & credits.
The left side of the top card shows Credits available (or Trial credits available on the Free trial), the number left, and the total. Under it is a bar and legend that split your credits into used, monthly, trial and top-up. The top right corner shows when monthly credits reset, or No monthly reset if your plan has none. On the Free trial it shows when your trial credits expire, for example Trial credits expire on 27 November 2026.
The right side shows your plan, its price, your monthly credits and the date it renews. Plans are explained in Plans and features.
To see activity over time, choose Usage in Settings. It shows Messages sent, Chats started, Service uses and Credits used for a period you choose, from Last 7 days to Last 12 months. On Business, admins can switch between Me and Everyone.
Kinds of credit
| Kind | Who gets it | How much | When it ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | New workspaces on the Free trial | 25 credits, once per person | Expires one month after the trial starts |
| Monthly | Pro and Business | 25 included, plus any extra monthly credits you choose | Resets at the start of each billing period. Unused monthly credits don't carry over. |
| Top-up | Pro and Business, bought one-off | 50 to 1,000 credits per purchase | Lasts 12 months from purchase |
Trial credits are used first.
Add more credits
Only workspace admins can buy credits. If you're a member, Plans & credits shows "To get more credits, ask a billing admin to buy them for the workspace."
Buy a one-off top-up
Top-ups are £1 per credit and are available on Pro and Business. On the Free trial, the Buy more credits row shows Available after upgrading.
- Open Settings, then Plans & credits.
- In Buy more credits, choose 50, 100, 250 or 500. To pick another amount, select Custom and enter a multiple of 50 between 50 and 1,000.
- Select Buy, followed by the amount and price, for example Buy 100 for £100.00.
- Pay in the secure Stripe checkout.
- Back in Yori, wait a few seconds while the payment is confirmed. You'll see a message such as 100 credits added with your new balance.
If confirmation takes longer than a minute, refresh the page. Your checkout is saved.
Add extra monthly credits
If you regularly need more than 25 credits a month, add extra monthly credits to your plan. They're billed with your plan and reset each period.
- Open Plans & credits.
- On your current plan's card, open the monthly credits menu, for example 25 credits a month.
- Choose a larger amount. Each option shows its extra monthly price.
- Select Update credits and check the Update monthly credits? dialog.
- Select Confirm and pay, followed by the amount.
More monthly credits start straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of this billing period. You'll see Monthly credits updated.
If your workspace has an amount from an earlier plan, such as 150 credits a month, the menu lists it as Current amount and the card says "You get 150 credits a month from an earlier plan. Choosing a new amount replaces it." You keep that amount until you choose a new one.
To lower your monthly credits, choose a smaller amount and select Update credits, then Confirm. The decrease starts at your next renewal and nothing is charged today. Until then, a banner shows the scheduled change. To cancel it, select the Keep button in the banner (for example Keep Pro) and confirm.
Payments, billing details and invoices
If your workspace pays by invoice, Plans & credits shows Your plan is billed by invoice in place of the plan cards. Select Contact Yori to change your plan or monthly credits. If an invoiced plan ends, the plan cards come back so you can restart it.
Admins on a paid plan can manage payments from the plan summary in Plans & credits. Select Manage billing and choose:
- Payment method to change your card
- Billing details to update the details that appear on your invoices
- Invoices and payments to view and download invoices and receipts
- Cancel plan to cancel at the end of the billing period. See Plans and features.
Each option opens Stripe's secure billing page in place of Yori. When you return, Yori updates your billing automatically. If the update is slow, you may see Billing changes are still syncing. Refresh the page to try again.
If Manage billing can't open, you'll see Couldn't open billing portal. Wait a moment and try again.
Partner workspaces funded by an Enterprise
If an Enterprise supports your workspace as a partner, your credits come from that Enterprise and Yori won't charge your workspace for them. Plans & credits looks different:
- The plan summary shows the Enterprise's name, an Enterprise-managed tag, how many workspace credits are left this period out of your monthly limit, and "Your allowance is set by your Enterprise contract."
- A bar shows how many credits the workspace has used this period and when it resets.
- The left side shows Your Yori credits. These are any credits that belong to you, such as included by your Enterprise, trial or purchased credits. Trial credits are used before your workspace credits. Purchased credits are used after your workspace credits run out.
- You won't see Change plan or Buy more credits.
The top bar's Usage breakdown shows the same split, with a Your Yori credits card and a Workspace credits card.
If you see "Current workspace policy prevents these credits from being spent.", your Enterprise has limited AI use in the workspace for now. Contact your Enterprise administrator.
Request more credits
If your workspace needs more credits this period, a Partner Owner or Admin can ask the Enterprise for them.
- Open Plans & credits.
- In Request more credits, under How many extra credits?, choose 50, 100, 250, 500 or Custom (in steps of 50). Yori shows what your new allowance would be.
- Optionally, add a Note for your administrator (up to 2,000 characters).
- Select Send request.
You'll see Request sent, and the Enterprise is notified. While the request is waiting, the section shows the amount, when you sent it and when it expires. Select Withdraw request to cancel it. Other members see "A Partner Owner or Admin can submit an allowance request."
Troubleshooting
- We couldn't load your billing details. Your credits and plan are safe. Check your connection and select Try again.
- Payment is still being confirmed. Refresh the page. Your checkout session is kept.
- The balance looks out of date. Totals update a few seconds after each reply. Reopen Usage breakdown or refresh the page.
