Service page

Read what a Service does, edit its instructions and files when it's yours, and check it's ready to use.

ForService editors and read-only recipients

On this page6 sections

Each Service has its own page. It shows what the Service does, the steps Yori follows, the files Yori can open while it works, and whether the Service is ready to use. If the Service is yours you can edit all of it. If a teammate shared it or your Enterprise gives it to your workspace, you can read and use it but not change it.

Open a Service

Open Knowledge, choose Services, then select a Service. Select Services above the title to go back to the list.

What you'll see

  • The Service's icon and name, with its category and when Yori uses it underneath.
  • Who can use it. On your own Service this is a button, Only you or Shared with team, that lets you change it. On someone else's it reads Shared by their name, or From your Enterprise's name.
  • A ... menu with Edit details, Try it in a new chat, Make a copy and Delete. You only see the options you're allowed to use.

What it does

The first thing on the page is a short description of what the Service does, set large. Select Show all if it's long.

Instructions

The steps Yori follows each time, shown as a formatted page. These come from the Service's main document, SERVICE.md.

Files

Templates, examples and other files Yori can open while it works. SERVICE.md comes first, then folders with their files, then other files. Each row shows the size and when it was last updated.

Checks

Three checks Yori runs before it uses the Service:

Check Passes when
Has a name and a description Both are filled in
Has instructions SERVICE.md has steps in it
Files fit Each file is under 256 KB and all files together are under 1 MB

The section reads Ready to use when every check passes, or Needs attention when one doesn't.

Side panel

On wide screens, On this page jumps to each section. Details shows Who can use it, Who can edit it, Category, Created by and Last updated. Below that are Try it in a new chat and Make a copy.

Edit a Service you made

Write the instructions

  1. Select Edit next to Instructions.
  2. Write the steps in Markdown. Select Preview to see how they'll look, and Write to go back.
  3. Select Save, or press Cmd + S. Press Escape or select Cancel to stop without saving.

Changes apply to the next chat that uses the Service.

Change the icon

Select the icon with the pencil next to the name, or open Edit details, and pick a new one. It saves straight away and shows in the Services list too.

Change the details

  1. Open ... at the top and choose Edit details.
  2. Change the Name, When should Yori use it?, What it does or Category.
  3. Select Save.

What it does is optional. When it's empty, the page shows When should Yori use it? instead.

Add, open, rename and delete files

  • Select Add file, then New file or New folder. Type a name and press Enter. A new file opens straight away so you can write it.
  • Select a file to open it in a panel beside the page. Edit it and select Save. Select Close, or Discard if you don't want your changes.
  • Open ... on a folder to add a New file here.
  • Open ... on a file or folder to Rename or Delete it. Deleting a folder deletes everything in it, and can't be undone.

SERVICE.md can't be renamed or deleted. Edit it from the Instructions section.

Share it with your team

Select Only you in the header and choose Whole team. Teammates can then use it, but only you can change it. Choose Only you again to make it private. Sharing needs the Business plan. See Service visibility.

Services you didn't make

  • Shared by a teammate: you can read the instructions and files, use it in chat, and Make a copy to get your own editable version.
  • From your Enterprise: your Enterprise keeps the steps private, so the page shows what the Service does and that it's Read-only. You can use it in any chat. Enterprise admins manage these from the Enterprise area. See Enterprise Services.

Troubleshooting

  • "We couldn't find this service": it may have been deleted, or you may not have access to it in this workspace.
  • "We couldn't open this service": Yori couldn't load it. Refresh the page.
  • A save didn't go through: the message under the section title explains why. If someone else changed the same file since you opened it, refresh the page before saving again.
