Memory is where Yori keeps short facts and preferences it has picked up from your chats, such as how you like to write, who you work with or standing details about your business. Yori reads your memories at the start of every chat, so you don't have to repeat yourself. The Memory page shows you everything it has saved, and lets you turn memory off.
Where to find it
Open Knowledge in the sidebar and select Memory.
What you'll see
- Memory, the page title, with an info button. Select it to read About memory: "Facts and preferences Yori has saved from your chats in this workspace. Yori reads them at the start of every chat. To change or remove one, ask Yori in any chat. You can turn memory off at any time."
- The memory switch, top right, labelled On or Off.
- Your saved memories, as a list. Each line is one fact or preference, written in plain words.
If Yori hasn't saved anything yet, the list says "Nothing saved yet" and explains that Yori saves things worth keeping, like how you like to write.
How memories are saved
You don't need to do anything. As you chat, Yori decides when something you've shared is worth keeping for future chats: lasting preferences and facts, rather than details that only matter for today's task.
- Yori tells you. When Yori saves or removes a memory, it says so in the chat and reminds you that you can see everything under Knowledge, then Memory.
- Sensitive details are never saved. Yori doesn't save passwords, access tokens, payment details, private keys or one-time codes.
- Memories are used when relevant. Yori reads all your memories at the start of each chat, but only uses the ones that matter for what you're doing.
Ask Yori to remember, change or forget something
The Memory page is for viewing. To change what's saved, ask Yori in any chat. For example:
- "Remember that our company name is always written in capitals."
- "Forget that I prefer short posts."
- "Update my memory: I now manage the marketing team, not sales."
Yori confirms the change in the chat. Refresh the Memory page to see the updated list.
Turn memory off or on
- Open Knowledge, then Memory.
- Select the switch at the top right.
When you switch memory off:
- Yori confirms with Memory is off: "Yori won't use or save memories from your next message."
- Yori can't see anything saved about you and can't save anything new. If you ask it to remember something, it tells you memory is off and where to turn it back on.
- Your saved memories aren't deleted. The page shows Memory is off and how many memories are kept for when you turn it back on.
To switch memory back on, select the switch again or select Turn memory on. Yori confirms with Memory is on: "Yori will use and save memories from your next message."
The change applies from your next message, including in chats that are already open.
If the setting doesn't save, you'll see Memory setting wasn't saved and the switch goes back to how it was. Try again in a moment.
Who can see your memory
Your memory is personal. Teammates can't see it, and it only shapes your own chats. Each workspace has its own memory, so what Yori remembers in one workspace doesn't carry over to another.
Memory, Rules and Knowledge
| Use | For |
|---|---|
| Memory | Things Yori picks up as you chat. Yori decides what to keep, and you can ask it to change anything |
| Rules | Instructions you want followed every time, written and controlled by you. See Rules |
| Brand Profiles and Audiences | Detailed, structured information about a brand or market, chosen per project. See Brand Profiles and Audiences |
If something must always apply, add it as a Rule rather than relying on Memory.
