Service visibility decides who can find and use a Service. It's separate from who can edit it: only the owner can ever change a Service, whoever else can see it.
Visibility at a glance
| Visibility | Who can see and use it | Who can edit it | How it gets there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private | Only you | You | Every new Service, duplicate and copy starts private |
| Shared with organisation | You and everyone in your organisation | Only you | You turn on Share with organisation |
| Shared by teammate | Everyone in your organisation | Only the teammate who owns it | A teammate shared their Service |
| Enterprise-assigned | People in the workspace it's assigned to | Only the Enterprise team, from the Enterprise area | An Enterprise assigned it to your workspace |
| Yori-made | Everyone | Nobody in your workspace | Comes with Yori |
You'll see these labels in the Service library, on the Service page, and in chat when you pick a Service.
Share a Service with your organisation
Organisation sharing is Business-plan gated. You need a Business or Enterprise plan, you need to be in an organisation, and you need to own the Service. The plan alone doesn't change a Service's visibility: nothing is shared until you turn it on.
- Open the Service's page.
- Select Only you at the top.
- Choose Whole team.
You can also choose Share with team from the ... menu on the Services list. The change saves straight away and Yori confirms it, with Undo. Teammates see the Service under Shared with me.
To stop sharing, choose Only you, or Make private from the list menu. Teammates can no longer find it. Copies they already made with Make a copy stay in their libraries, because those copies belong to them.
What teammates can do with a shared Service
When a teammate opens a Service you've shared, they see a Read-only badge. They can:
- Use it in chat, by typing
$or choosing Services from the/menu. - Read the instructions and every file on the Service page.
- Make their own private copy with Make a copy.
They can't edit your documents, rename it, or change its sharing. When you update the Service, teammates using the shared original get your changes. Their private copies don't.
Enterprise-assigned Services
An Enterprise can make a Service available to a partner workspace. It appears under From Enterprise on the Services page, marked From the Enterprise's name. You can use it in any chat, but it's read-only and the Enterprise keeps its steps private.
Enterprise admins manage assignments in the Enterprise area. See Enterprise Services.
Yori-made Services
Yori includes ready-made Services, listed as Yori-made in chat. Everyone can use them, but their underlying instructions aren't shown to users and they can't be edited or copied.
What does not change
- Viewing or copying a Service never gives you editing rights over the original.
- Sharing doesn't change ownership. If you share a Service, it's still yours.
- Your plan decides whether sharing is available, not what is shared.
- Service visibility is separate from project ownership, chat ownership and your workspace role.
