An organisation is your team's account in Yori, and its workspace is where that team's work happens. Knowing which workspace you're in tells you whose Knowledge Yori is using, whose credits you're spending and who your teammates are.
Organisations and workspaces explained
In Yori, each organisation has one workspace, so the two words describe the same team from slightly different angles:
- The organisation is the account: its name, logo, members and their roles, and its plan.
- The workspace is the place in the app where you work for that organisation. It has its own web address, for example askyori.ai/your-workspace.
You'll see both words in the app. The workspace menu lists your workspaces, and you create a new one with Create organisation.
You can belong to more than one organisation. For example, you might have your own business's workspace and also be invited into a client's or a partner's workspace. Each one is separate.
What belongs to a workspace
Each workspace keeps its own:
| Item | Shared with the team? |
|---|---|
| Projects and chats | No. They belong to the person who created them. Teammates can't open them. |
| Brand profiles, Audiences, Services and Rules | Depends on how each item is shared. See Permissions and sharing. |
| Plan and credits | Yes. Everyone in the workspace uses the same plan and credits. |
| People and roles | Yes. Admins manage who belongs to the workspace. |
Nothing moves between workspaces when you switch. A project you create in one workspace stays in that workspace, and Yori only uses the Knowledge from the workspace you're in.
See which workspace you're in
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the workspace menu. In the classic look, your workspace's name and logo appear at the top. Under the name, Organisation admin means you manage this organisation. Otherwise, you see Workspace.
In the updated look, the current workspace appears first in the list, with its logo or initials and a tick.
The web address in your browser also includes the workspace's address, such as askyori.ai/your-workspace/app.
Switch workspace
In the updated look, select your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar. The workspace list starts below your email address. Each organisation has a logo or initials. The current workspace has a tick. Organisation settings and Create organisation sit below the list.
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the workspace menu.
- Choose from the workspace list. The current workspace comes first, with a tick.
- Select the workspace you want. If you belong to lots of workspaces, type its name in Find a workspace to filter the list.
Yori opens that workspace's Home. If you belong to lots of workspaces, select Load more workspaces at the bottom of the list to see the rest.
If switching fails, you'll see "Workspace not changed" with a reason. If your workspaces are still loading, wait a moment and try again.
Join a workspace you've been invited to
When someone invites you, the invitation appears in two places:
- When you sign up, Yori shows Your team is already here and lets you join straight away. See Getting started.
- When you're already signed in, the workspace appears in the workspace menu marked Invited, with a Join button.
Some workspaces show a Suggested badge. These are teams you weren't invited to but can join because your email address uses the same domain as the organisation.
To join, select Join next to the workspace. The button shows Joining… while Yori adds you, then opens the new workspace. If an invitation has expired, ask an admin of that workspace to send a new one.
Create another organisation
- Open the workspace menu.
- Select Create organisation.
- Follow the steps to name your new organisation.
Yori opens the new workspace when it's ready, and you become its admin. The new workspace starts empty: it has none of the projects or Knowledge from your other workspaces.
Roles
Each person has a role in each workspace they belong to. Your role can be different in different workspaces.
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| Admin | Manages the organisation. Admins can invite people, change roles and update the organisation's name, workspace address and logo. |
| Member | Uses the workspace and its shared Knowledge. Members can't invite people or change organisation details. |
Admins invite people from Settings, under People. See People and roles.
Roles control shared workspace settings. They don't give anyone access to your private projects, chats or private Knowledge. Enterprise programmes add their own roles. See Enterprise overview.
Change workspace details
Admins can change the organisation's name, workspace address and logo. Changing the address changes the web links your team uses, so check with your team first. See Workspace behaviour.
Partner workspaces
If your workspace was set up by an Enterprise as part of a partner programme, you may see extra prompts. If the Enterprise named you as the partner's first admin, Yori asks you to Review this partner workspace the first time you open it: select Open workspace details, check the organisation name and workspace URL, then select Continue. Colleagues who join later do not see this step. A banner may also show your partner status. See Partner status.
Account settings and signing out
To sign out of Yori, open the workspace menu and select Sign out. To manage your own account, such as your name, email or sign-in methods, open Settings in the sidebar and choose Account. See Settings.
