Project context tells Yori which brand to write as, who the work is for and which language to use. Set it once per project and it guides every chat in that project. Project defaults save you from setting the same context every time you start a new project.
Open project context
- Open the project.
- Select Project context in the chat's top bar.
The button shows a small dot when something is missing: red when no Brand Profile or Audience is chosen, amber when only one of them is. Hover over the button to see what's missing.
A panel opens that says Every chat in this project uses these. Changes save straight away. You'll see Saving and then Saved next to the title. If a save fails, you'll see Couldn't save with Try again.
In a new project without a Brand Profile or Audience, a card above the message box says Tell Yori who this is for, with a tick next to Brand profile and Audience once each is chosen. Select Set up to open project context, or Not now to hide the card.
Brand Profiles
Choose up to three Brand Profiles. Chosen profiles show as chips with their logo or first letter.
- Select Brand profiles, Choose brand profile or Add. The panel slides to a list.
- Search in Search brand profiles and tick the profiles you want.
- Select Done, or the back arrow, to return.
To remove a profile, hover over its chip and select the cross.
When you choose more than one, the first is tagged Main. Yori treats it as the main brand, and Canvas uses its visual identity for branded PDF and Word exports. To change which profile is main, remove the others and add them back in the order you want.
If you see Saved Brand Profile (not found), a profile this project used has been deleted or you no longer have access to it. Remove it and choose another. If you have no Brand Profiles yet, the list says No brand profiles yet with a link to Add a brand profile.
See Brand Profiles.
Audiences
Choose up to three Audiences.
- Select Audiences, Choose audience or Add.
- Search in Search audiences and tick the ones the work is for.
- Select Done to return.
Hover over an Audience chip and select the cross to remove it.
See Audiences.
Language
- Select the Language row.
- Search in Search languages and select one. Choose None to clear the project's language.
The list includes many regional versions of English, such as English (United Kingdom) and English (United States), as well as other languages. The regional choice controls spelling and conventions.
To make a language your default for new projects, hover over it and select Make default. Your current default shows Default with a filled star. This is the same setting as Language in Defaults for new projects.
Solutions libraries
If your workspace is part of an Enterprise programme, you'll also see a Solutions libraries row showing how many are chosen. Select it and the panel slides to a list of the libraries shared with you. Search in Search solutions libraries, tick a library to use it in this project, or untick it to stop. Changes save straight away. Select Done, or the back arrow, to return. A project can use up to 20 libraries. If none are available, you'll see No libraries shared with you yet. See Solutions library.
What context changes
- Context applies to the whole project, including chats that already exist and chats you start later. Yori uses the current context from your next message onwards.
- Choosing a Brand Profile or Audience doesn't change who owns it or who can see it. You can only choose items you have access to.
- Rules and Memory are not set per project. They apply across your work. See Rules and Memory.
- Services are added to individual messages with
$. See Project chat and messages.
Set defaults for new projects
Defaults are the context every new project starts with. They are personal to you.
- Open Project context in any project.
- At the bottom, find Defaults for new projects and select Edit.
- Choose Brand profiles, Audiences and a Language. Select Add in a field to pick from a list.
- Select Save defaults.
You'll see Project defaults saved with "Saved. New projects will start with these selections." Existing projects stay unchanged.
The line under Defaults for new projects shows your setup: a green dot with your defaults when they're complete, an amber dot saying what's not chosen yet, or a red dot with Nothing chosen yet.
If a saved default no longer exists, its chip says Saved profile was deleted or Saved audience was deleted, with the note "One saved default no longer exists. Remove it or pick another, then save."
Keep context up to date
Return to project context when the campaign changes direction, you target a different audience, or you add a new brand. Check the context before a big request, such as a full campaign or a long-form article, so Yori starts from the right brief.
