ForAll users

On this page17 sections

The sidebar on the left of every screen takes you to every part of Yori. This guide explains each item in it, the optional Icon rail layout, the top bar, the workspace menu, how to collapse or resize the sidebar, how to find things, and the keyboard shortcuts that save time.

The sidebar at a glance

From top to bottom, the sidebar shows:

Item What it does
Yori logo Takes you to Home.
Sidebar button Collapses the sidebar to icons.
New project Creates a project you name yourself.
Home Opens Home.
Knowledge Opens Brand profiles, Audiences, Services, Connectors, Rules and Memory.
Image and video Opens the image and video studio.
Automations Opens scheduled tasks.
Projects Opens the Projects window to find and manage your projects.
Project documents Only inside a project. Shows the project's files and folders.
Brand profile and Get started cards Only for new users, or while a brand profile is being built.
What's new Shows the latest product updates.
Enterprise Only for people with Enterprise access.
Settings Opens Settings.
Your name Opens the workspace menu.

The Icon rail layout

If you prefer a slimmer layout, choose Icon rail in Settings, Appearance, under Layout. See Appearance and tips. Everything in the sidebar is still there, arranged in two parts.

The rail is a narrow bar of icons that's always on screen. Hover over an icon to see its name. From top to bottom:

Icon What it does
Yori logo Takes you to Home.
New project Creates a project you name yourself.
Home Opens Home.
Projects Opens the Projects panel.
Knowledge Opens Brand profiles and the Knowledge panel.
Image and video Opens the image and video studio.
Automations Opens Automations and its panel. Only shows if you've turned it on.
Cards for new users Small icons that open the same cards as the Classic sidebar.
What's new, Enterprise and Settings The same as in the Classic sidebar.
Your picture Opens the workspace menu.

The panel sits beside the rail and lists the pages in the area you picked:

Panel What it shows
Knowledge Its six sections, grouped under Your business, How Yori works and Sources.
Projects A Search projects box, then your Pinned and Recent projects. Select a project to open it. All projects opens the Projects window.
Inside a project The project's documents and folders, exactly as in the Classic sidebar. Select Projects at the top to go back to the list. The chat and the document stay where they are.
Automations All automations, then each automation under Active or Paused.

Home and Image and video have no panel, so they use the full width of the screen.

To close the panel, select the panel button in its top corner, select the area's icon again, or press ⌘ + B (Ctrl + B on Windows). Do the same again to open it. While the panel is closed, rest the pointer on the area's icon to see the panel float over the page without moving it.

New project

Select New project to create a project with a name of your choice.

  1. In the Name this project window, type a Project name, for example "Q3 launch plan".
  2. Select Create project.

Yori creates the project and opens it. You can rename it later. Select Cancel or press Esc to close the window without creating anything.

Project names:

  • Can't be empty. You'll see "Project name required."
  • Can't include a forward slash or backslash.
  • Can be up to 80 characters.

To start a project and send your first message in one go, use the message box on Home instead.

Knowledge

Knowledge is where you teach Yori about your business. Select it to show or hide its six sections. It opens automatically while you're in Knowledge.

Section What it's for Guide
Brand profiles How you sound and what you sell Brand profiles
Audiences Who you're writing for Audiences
Services Saved workflows you can run from the message box Services
Connectors Apps you connect to Yori. Opens in a window over the current page. Connectors
Rules Words and habits to use or avoid Rules
Memory Useful facts Yori keeps between chats Memory

When the sidebar is collapsed, selecting the Knowledge icon shows the same six sections in a small menu.

Image and video, and Automations

Image and video opens the image and video studio. See Image and video.

Automations runs Yori tasks on a schedule. See Automations.

Projects

Select Projects to open the Projects window: "Find, sort and manage your projects." From there you can search projects or tags, open, pin, rename, tag or delete a project, and create a New project. Projects is highlighted while you're inside a project. See Create and switch projects.

Inside a project, the sidebar also lists the project's documents and folders under the main items. See Files and imports.

Cards for new users

Near the bottom of the sidebar, new users may see:

  • A Building brand profile card while Yori researches your business after sign-up. It changes to Brand profile ready or Brand profile stopped when research ends.
  • The Get started checklist, with seven things to try.

Both are explained in Getting started.

What's new

What's new opens a panel with the five latest product updates. A dot on the icon means there are updates you haven't seen. Select View all product updates to see the full list. If there's nothing new, you'll see "You're all caught up". See Notifications.

Enterprise

If you have access to an Enterprise programme, Enterprise appears above Settings. Selecting it switches the sidebar to the Enterprise tools. Select Back to app at the bottom of the sidebar to return to your normal workspace. See Enterprise overview.

Settings

Settings opens the Settings window over the page you're on. It has these sections:

  • Workspace: Plans & credits, Usage and, for admins, People.
  • Preferences: Account, Appearance and MCP.
  • Help: Getting started and Send feedback.

See Settings.

Workspace menu

Select your name and picture at the bottom of the sidebar to open the workspace menu. From top to bottom it shows:

  1. The current workspace: its name and logo, with Organisation admin underneath if you manage it, or Workspace if you don't.
  2. Switch workspace: every workspace you belong to, with your role on the right. The current one comes first, with a tick. Invitations show Invited and a Join button. Workspaces you can join because of your email domain show a Suggested badge. With lots of workspaces, type in Find a workspace to filter the list.
  3. Load more workspaces: appears if you belong to lots of workspaces.
  4. Create organisation: starts a new organisation and workspace.
  5. Your email address, Report a problem (opens Send feedback in Settings) and Sign out.

To manage your personal account, such as your profile and how you sign in, open Settings and choose Account.

Select any workspace in the list to switch to it. See Organisations and workspaces.

The top bar

The bar across the top of most screens shows tools for the page you're on. On the right, you'll usually see:

  • The notifications bell: messages addressed to you, such as a brand profile finishing. The bell shows when you have unread notifications. See Notifications.
  • Your credits: how many credits your workspace has left. Select it for a usage breakdown. See Credits and billing.

Inside a project, the chat and the document each have their own bar instead.

Collapse and resize the sidebar

  • Collapse: select the sidebar button next to the Yori logo, or press ⌘ + B on a Mac or Ctrl + B on Windows. The sidebar shrinks to icons. Hover over an icon to see its name.
  • Expand: select the sidebar button at the top of the collapsed sidebar, or press the same shortcut again.
  • Resize: drag the sidebar's right edge to make it wider or narrower. You can also select the edge to collapse or expand it.

Yori remembers whether your sidebar is open and how wide it is in this browser.

Find things

Yori doesn't have one search box for the whole app. Use these instead:

To find Use
A project Projects in the sidebar, then type in the search box. You can search by project name or tag.
A project to send a message to The project picker under the Home message box.
A file in a project The project's documents in the sidebar. Press ⌘ + Shift + F (or Ctrl + Shift + F) inside a project to search its files.
A service, document or command Type $, @ or / in the message box.
Where something is in Yori Ask Yori in any chat. It can tell you where to find things.
