A project is where you do your work with Yori. When you open one, you see its documents, the current chat and an editing panel side by side, so you can talk to Yori and shape the result in the same place.
What a project is for
Use one project for each distinct piece of work, such as a product launch, a client, a quarterly campaign or a content series. Everything in it stays together:
- the chats you have with Yori
- the documents Yori writes and the files you import
- the project context: Brand Profiles, Audience and language
Projects are private to the person who created them. See Projects, chats, and context.
What you'll see
On a computer, the project screen has three columns. You can drag the divider between the chat and the right-hand panel to resize them.
Left: sidebar with chats and files
The app sidebar stays on the left. Inside a project it starts open and also shows the project:
- The project name at the top. Select Edit project name (the pencil) to rename the project.
- A Chats | Files switch. Yori remembers your choice for each project. A project opens on Files the first time.
- Chats lists the project's chats, newest activity first, with pinned chats at the top. Use Search chats and New chat above the list. See Manage chats in a project.
- Files shows a row of buttons (Search documents, Import documents, Create document, Create folder and More file actions) and the file tree of everything in the project. See Project files and imports.
When the sidebar is collapsed, select Chats and files to see the same lists.
Middle: the chat
The chat sits in the middle. Along its top bar, from left to right:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chat name | Select it to rename the chat. Press Enter to save or Esc to cancel. |
| Credits chip | Shows the credits used in this project. Select it for a breakdown. |
| Project context | Opens the Brand Profiles, Audience and language for the project. |
| Download conversation | Downloads the visible chat as a Markdown file called conversation.md. |
| Hide right panel or Show right panel | Hides or shows the right-hand panel. |
| Reopen canvas | Appears after you close a document, so you can bring it back. |
Below the top bar are the messages, and at the bottom is the message box (the composer). See Project chat and messages.
Right: the panel
The right-hand panel shows tabs. Each open document has its own tab. Select the + button (Add panel tab) and choose Files to browse and search the project's files, then open one. Refresh files reloads the list.
When no tab is open, the panel says Open a surface and offers Files.
Right-click a tab for Copy path, Close, Close others, Close to the right and Close all. You can also middle-click a tab to close it. Press ⌘ + P (Ctrl + P on Windows) while the panel is focused to search for a file to open.
Documents open in Canvas, the editor inside this panel.
On a phone or small screen
On a small screen you see one area at a time: the chat or the open document. Use Open sidebar at the top left to reach the app sidebar and the project's chats and files. Use Reopen canvas in the chat's top bar to return to a document.
Start working
When a project has no chats yet, the chat area says No chat yet. Start a new chat to get going. An empty chat says Start a chat with Ask Yori anything to get started.
If the project has no Brand Profile or Audience, a card above the composer says Tell Yori who this is for. It ticks Brand profile and Audience as you choose them. Select Set up to open project context, or Not now to hide the card.
