Brand Profiles

Capture a brand's positioning, offerings, voice and proof once, then reuse it so Yori writes on brand.

A Brand Profile is a structured description of a business: what it does, what it sells, how it works with customers, how it sounds and why people trust it. Yori builds the first version by researching the business website and any documents you add, and you refine it from there. When you choose a Brand Profile for a project, Yori uses it to write in that brand's voice with the right facts.

Where to find it

Open Knowledge in the sidebar and select Brand profiles. You can also select Brand profile among the create shortcuts on the Home page, which opens Brand profiles with the create window ready.

At the top of the page, a switch moves between Profiles, described below, and Brand kits, which holds the logos, colours, fonts, pictures and rules Yori uses for images and videos. See Brand kits.

What you'll see on the list

The page header reads Brand profiles with the line "How each business sounds, what it sells and why people trust it." When you have a default, the line also names it, for example "Northwind Coffee is used in new projects." On the right is the Add brand profile button.

Below the header:

  • Search by name or website: filters the list by profile name, business name or website as you type. Matching letters are highlighted. Select the clear button in the box, or press Esc, to clear it.
  • Filter tabs: All, Created by me and Shared with me, each with a count.
  • The list: one row per profile, newest first, under the columns Name, Who can use it and Updated.

Each row shows:

  • The business's website icon or logo, or its first letter if Yori hasn't found one.
  • The profile name, and under it the website and a one-line summary of the business.
  • Who can use it: Only you or Whole team, with Created by you or Created by and the creator's name.
  • Updated: such as Just now, Today, Yesterday, 3 days ago or a date.
  • A More button (the three dots) with the row's actions.

Rows can also show:

Marker Meaning
Default This is the Brand Profile new projects start with. Hover it to see "Used in new projects"
Building Yori is still reading the website and writing the profile. The row says "Reading the website"
Couldn't finish Yori couldn't finish the profile. The row says why, for example "Yori couldn't find enough about this business on example.co.uk." If you created it, select Try again on the row to open it
Setup isn't finished The profile was saved but Yori hasn't started building it. The row says "Add a website or a few notes so Yori can build it."

When a profile finishes building, its row briefly lights up and Yori shows a message such as "Northwind Coffee is ready" with an Open button.

Select any row to open the profile.

The row menu

Select the three dots on a row to see:

  • Open
  • Use in new projects, or Stop using in new projects if it's already your default. This appears once the profile has finished building.
  • Share with team or Make private (creator only). See Share Brand Profiles.
  • Delete (creator only). Confirm with Delete brand profile.

On a profile someone else created, the menu ends with a note such as "Only Sam can change or delete this."

Default and sharing changes show a message with Undo, in case you change your mind.

Empty and error states

  • No Brand Profiles yet: "Teach Yori a business", with an Add brand profile button.
  • A search with no results: "No brand profiles match" followed by your search, with Clear search.
  • Created by me with nothing in it: "Nothing created by you yet."
  • Shared with me with nothing in it: "Nothing shared with you yet."
  • The list can't load: "Couldn't load your brand profiles", with Try again.

What's inside a Brand Profile

A Brand Profile opens with a one-line summary of the business and What stands out, up to three things that set it apart. Then come five sections:

Section What it covers
Positioning What they do, why it matters, how they work, their values, and their mission and what makes them different when known
What they sell A summary, then each product, service and package in one sentence
How they work with customers Selling, delivery and support
How they sound Their tone of voice, five voice dials scored from 1 to 10, and example lines under Sounds like
Why people trust them Customers, partners, and any accreditations, certifications, awards and notes

The business's logos, colours, fonts and pictures live in its brand kit. See Brand kits.

Use a Brand Profile in your work

A Brand Profile only shapes Yori's writing when it's selected for the project you're working in.

  • In a project: open Project context at the top of the chat and pick one or more Brand Profiles under Brand Profiles. Yori uses them for that project's chats.
  • As a default: choose Use in new projects and every new project starts with it already selected. Existing projects keep their own choices.
  • When building an Audience: if you have default Brand Profiles, Yori uses them as background when it researches a new Audience.
  • In Image and video: tag the profile's brand kit to keep pictures and videos on brand. See Brand kits.

If a default Brand Profile is deleted or you lose access to it, the Project defaults window tells you "A saved default is no longer available." Save the form to clear it or choose a replacement. See Project context and defaults.

Good to know

  • Each Brand Profile belongs to the workspace you created it in.
  • Creating a profile, rebuilding it and checking the website's look use credits. Editing by hand doesn't.
  • Yori is built for IT and technology businesses, so the profile asks for an IT provider type such as MSP or VAR.
  • Enterprise admins can also manage Brand Profiles for partners. See Partner knowledge.
