Home is the first screen you see in Yori. Use it to ask Yori for something new, create a project or a piece of Knowledge, or jump back into a project you worked on recently.
Where to find it
Home opens when you sign in or switch workspace. To get back to it from anywhere, select Home or the Yori logo in the sidebar. Its web address ends in /app, for example askyori.ai/your-workspace/app.
What you'll see
From top to bottom, Home shows:
- The top bar, with the notifications bell and your credits.
- A greeting that changes with the time of day, such as "Good morning", followed by your first name, and the question "What do you want to work on?"
- The message box, with a project picker underneath.
- Create new buttons for projects and Knowledge.
- Continue working, with your most recent projects.
The sidebar sits on the left. See Workspace navigation.
Ask Yori from Home
The message box on Home is the quickest way to start. The placeholder reads "Ask Yori anything or use /, @, or $".
- Type what you need, for example "Write a LinkedIn post announcing our new managed backup service".
- Check the project picker under the message box. It shows which project your message will go to.
- Press
Enteror select the send button.
Yori opens the project, starts a new chat and sends your message. The reply appears in the chat, and longer pieces of writing open as documents next to it.
Choose the project
Select the project picker, with the folder icon, to choose where your message goes:
- Search your projects with Search projects. If nothing matches, you'll see "No projects found."
- Select any project to send the message there in a new chat.
- Select Add new project to start a fresh project. The picker then shows New project.
When you send a message to New project, Yori creates a project and names it after the start of your message. You can rename it later. If you have no projects yet, every message from Home starts a new project.
Message box tools
The Home message box works like the one inside a project:
- Type
/for the menu and$to add a service. To bring in a document with@, send your message from inside a project. - Use the mode button to choose Fast for quick jobs or Thinking for longer, more considered answers.
- Use the tools menu for more options.
You can't attach files from Home yet. If you add one, you'll see "Attachments aren't available in chat yet. Remove the file to send this prompt." Open a project to add files instead. See Files and imports.
For everything the message box can do, see Chat and messages.
Create new
Under the message box, Create new has five buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Project | Creates an empty project called "New Project" and opens it. |
| Brand profile | Opens Brand profiles in Knowledge, ready to create a new one. |
| Audience | Opens Audiences in Knowledge, ready to create a new one. |
| Service | Opens Services in Knowledge, ready to create a new one. |
| Rules | Opens Rules in Knowledge, ready to add a rule. |
To name a project before it's created, use New project in the sidebar instead. See Create and switch projects.
Continue working
Continue working shows your three most recently edited projects as cards. Each card shows:
- A preview of up to three documents in the project, or a blank page if it has none yet.
- The project name.
- When it was last edited, for example "Edited 5 minutes ago". This updates while Home is open.
Select a card to open that project. Select View all to open the Projects window, where you can search, sort, pin, tag, rename and delete all your projects. See Create and switch projects.
Only projects you created appear here. Teammates' projects are private to them.
If you haven't made a project yet, you'll see "No projects yet. Send your first message above, and the project will show up here."
When you're new
If you're new, or have recently joined a team:
- The welcome window may open over Home. On its last slide, Start writing closes it and puts your cursor in the message box.
- The bottom of the sidebar may show your brand profile being built, and the Get started checklist.
See Getting started.
Troubleshooting
- A red message appears under Continue working. Yori couldn't finish an action, such as creating a project. Read the message, then try again. If a project was created but the message didn't send, you may see "An empty project may have been left behind. You can delete it from your projects."
- "Projects are temporarily unavailable." Yori couldn't load your projects. Refresh the page. You can still type a message.
- "Account changed. Switch to the account you want, then reload and retry." You signed in to a different account in another tab. Switch back to the account you want, then reload the page.
For other problems, see Troubleshooting.
